Groups of economic interests that aim to control the state institutions are behind the parties that are negotiating the formation of the ruling alliance. The negotiations center not on solutions to certain problems, but on the distribution of posts, the head of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CreDO) Sergiu Ostaf stated for Info-Prim Neo.
“These discussions do not focus on such important issues as reforms and changes that should take place in key areas. The politicians do not discuss the challenges, commitments and people’s expectations. It seems that there are other negotiation rules in politics, which are inferior to the public interest and do not necessarily contribute to the promotion of the public interest,” Ostaf said.
He also said that the parties in Moldova behave differently. In Germany, such talks are based on the civil model. They discuss the most important problems, look for solutions and identify the most suitable parties that are able to cope with the coming changes. Sergiu Ostaf believes that this is due to the political culture in Moldova, which is not sufficiently adjusted to the mordent European models.
“I think the political parties do not have many options to form a center-left coalition because Moldova has a lot of obligations. The influence exerted by the EU is so strong that no other coalition than the Alliance for European Integration – 2 is possible,” Sergiu Ostaf stated.
The CreDO head said the parties that entered Parliament will have to discuss in a civilized way, behave politely with the Communists and avoid extremist discourses full of hatred. “The PDM’s role here is very important. This party should convince the Communists of the importance of participating in the processes of identifying the persons suitable for the post of head of state. The PLDM should also make effort to show that they consider the Communists a party that represents an important section of the population. The PL can also take steps to discuss with the Communists,” Sergiu Ostaf said.
