The year 2023 is the year when the government offers support to business entities for these to extend their operations and to ensure jobs, said PAS MP Sergiu Lazarencu. According to him, the government aims to help the small and medium-sized enterprises that were powerfully affected by the consequences of the war in Ukraine. To stimulate investments in business, a 0% tax rate on reinvested profit will be applied over the next three years, IPN reports.

According to the representative of the ruling party, the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis seriously affected the capacity of the SMEs to remain on the market. After the state offered considerable support to the citizens to help them pay the bills, the funds will be now directed to business entities that provide jobs at home.

“The Republic of Moldova was most seriously affected by this war after Ukraine. The business entities, the logistics chains were affected. The companies were also hit by the high prices of energy resources. I’m glad that we passed the winter season and now aim to develop the economy. The Recean Cabinet clearly said that the economic development and the support for the business community are among the priorities. We need to create a favorable climate so as to attract more investments,” Sergiu Lazarencu stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei station.

He noted that the use of the 0% tax rate on reinvested profit over the next three years will help the companies to reinvigorate their business after the crisis. The PAS MP encouraged the business entities to apply to projects of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), which are designed to support entrepreneurship.

“This year is the year when the government invests in working people and in people who offer jobs, which is in business entities. For the purpose, we have ODA that provides financing programs, grants to help the people keep on and even expand their businesses,” said Sergiu Lazarencu.

In the same connection, the PAS MP denied the rumors that the local general elections planned for this year could be put off. He said the election date will be set by Parliament in cooperation with the Central Election Commission and a relevant decision can be taken in May already.
