Moldova’s hammer thrower Serghei Marghiev finished his European Athletics Championship bid in eight place, with a best of 74.47 meters, IPN reports.
The gold medal went to Wojciech Nowicki, who threw his hammer 80.12 meters. Nowicki was followed by fellow Pole Pawel Fajdek, as Hungary’s Bence Halasz claimed the bronze.
Another Moldovan athlete, Dimitriana Surdu, didn’t manage to qualify for the women’s shot put final with her best of 16.87 meters. Moldova’s team is composed of 6 athletes.
