Sergey Jepan finishes fifth at World Youth Championships

Sergei Jepan achieved the best result among Greco-Roman wrestlers at the World Youth Wrestling Championships held in Finland. He ranked fifth in the 55 kg class, IPN reports.

In the first match, Jepan was defeated by Turkey’s Kerem Kamal, who became a finalist. Later, the Moldovan wrestler beat Georgia’s Nugzari Tsurtsumia. In the match for the bronze medal, Jepan lost to Turabek Tirkashev of Uzbekistan 0-8.

The only medal for Moldova at the World Youth Wrestling Championships was won by Anastasia Nikita. She won silver in the 59 kg class.
