Former striker of the national football team of Moldova Sergey Alexeev signed for the second-tier team Sfantul Gheorghe. The 30-year-old player made his debut for the team from Suruceni with a goal. Alexeev set the final score at 4-0 in the match against FC Sangerei, IPN reports.
As a result of this victory, Sfantul Gheorghe climbed to the third spot in Division A, being one point behind Victoria. The lead is held by Sheriff-2, which does not have the right to promotion.
Sergey Alexeev has played 25 matches for the national team and scored five goals for this. He started his career at Sheriff, with which he was two times champion, in 2007 and 2008, while in 2009 won the Community Cup. Alexeev also played in the championships of Switzerland, Ukraine, Hungary, Israel, Russia and Latvia.
