Serafim Urecheanu, the president of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), voted at the polling place set up at Mihai Sadoveanu High School in Chisinau’s Rascani district at 10.00. “I voted for Moldova’s European future,” Urecheanu told the journalists after making his choice, Info-Prim Neo reports. Serafim Urecheanu came to the polling place together with his wife Larisa Urecheanu. At the polling place, he was expected by the AMN spokesman Victor Osipov, who is under No. 7 in the AMN’s list of candidates. Osipov came with his wife and their two daughters. They presented the AMN leader with a bouquet of yellow flowers. Urecheanu took the flowers from the youngest girl and gave them to his wife. “I voted for the forces that can transform Moldova into a democratic and rich country that takes care of the old and the young. I voted for Moldova’s European future, for the transformations that we must make urgently in order to become part of the European family, where we belong,” the AMN president said. During the 2005 parliamentary elections, Urecheanu voted at the same polling station, at the same hour. Then, Urecheanu, who was the leader of the Electoral Block “Democratic Moldova”, said that the people’s vote would be correct and they would choose to live in a prosperous country integrated into the European community. “I voted thinking about the Moldovan people that will go to the polls today. I voted for a very simple idea: for Moldova’s future and for the future of my children and my nephews,” Info-Prim quoted then Urecheanu as saying.
