Separation of four ministries approved by Government

The Government approved the reorganization of four ministries.These are the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure was divided into the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the Ministry of Economy. The Ministry of Economy will take over the economy, quality infrastructure, market surveillance and information technology from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research was separated into the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture, which will take over culture from the Ministry of Education and Research and tourism from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection was divided into the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, which will take over labor, social protection and demography from the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment was reorganized into the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Ministry of Environment, which will take over environmental protection, climate change and natural resources from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development will take over regional development and space planning from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said the reorganization will enable to optimize work on areas that are essential. The ministry in charge of roads is expected to hasten the implementation of sluggish projects. The state should increase its support for the field of culture and the minister of culture should formulate innovative ideas in the field and should make sure that the money in the sector is allocated correctly, including for supporting the young people from the field. Also, the state should support those who intend to switch over to green economy and an extensive analysis of climate change is needed in the environmental sector. The ministry of labor and social protection should reassess labor so that the workers are protected.
