The children with disabilities and children with developmental and behavioral disorders from Criuleni district will have access to assistance based on sensory integration therapy owing to a sensory room that was laid out by the association “Everyone Contributes to Change” with the assistance of the EU and Soros Foundation Moldova, IPN reports.

“Through the agency of the implemented project, we extended and strengthened the social service Mobile Team and the District Early Intervention Service: we arranged the space, informed the community and the parents, trained specialists and piloted services of the sensory room. We also provided a car to the Early Intervention Center “Lăstărel”. This way, the specialists can easier travel to families with limited financial possibilities to offer free the services needed by children – sensory integration therapy, kinetotherapy, psychological assistance,” said Victoria Secu, executive director of the association “Everyone Contributes to Change”.

The use of the sensory room will increase the quality of the services offered to at least 100 children a year – 30 beneficiaries of the social service Mobile Team and 70 beneficiaries of the District Early Intervention Service.

“The association “Everyone Contributes to Change” developed a series of social services intended for children and families, becoming a reliable partner of the European Union. We are glad to work with such organizations and will continue to support civil society to extend the social services needed by communities,” said Victoria Neaga, project manager at the EU Delegation to Moldova.

“We support the joint initiatives of civil society and the authorities, which bring the social services closer to those who need them. Together with the Foundation’s partners, we offered assistance in creating the sensory room, training specialists, purchasing a car for the specialists to easer reach the children who need rehabilitation,” said Petru Culeac, Soros Foundation Moldova executive director.

The social service Mobile Team and of the District Early Intervention Service in Criuleni was extended as part of the project “Civil Society Organization Acting for Better Social Services” that is financed by the EU, co-financed and implemented by Soros Foundation Moldova in partnership with Keystone Moldova and AO Institutum Virtutes Civilis. Within this project, 40 social services have been created and developed all over Moldova.
