The second stage of the Kroll investigation wasn’t necessary and represents only additional costs incurred in conditions of crisis. Such conclusions were formulated in the talk show “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

Ion Dron, chairman of the Association “Justice and Uprightness”, considers the authorities use the company Kroll to calm the protesters down. “I don’t understand why we should pay large amounts to Kroll for finding the money and then pay money to another company to recover this money, especially after the head of the National Anticorruption Center Viorel Chetraru said that he knows where the money is. There could be some hidden interests in this affair. The government just wants to stall for time during another four months,” said the jurist.

Economic expert Viorel Garbu considers the tender contest to choose a company for performing the second stage of investigations wasn’t a correct one. “What tender contest was it with only one bid? I think particular goals are pursued here,” he stated.

Dumitru Ursu, president of the Bankers League of Moldova, said the state institutions must not wait for the second stage of the investigation to be completed by Kroll, but should carry out the own investigations and should take decisions in accordance with the law.
