Between June 28 and July 16, the children will be able to attend the second shift at day summer camps in the municipality of Chisinau. A number of 1,070 children are expected to go to camps in the period, as the Chisinau City Hall has said.
The first shift during June 7-25 involved about 1,000 children. This year the summer camps in the municipality work only during the day at 50% of their capacity, given the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.
Besides the day camps organized at education institutions in Chisinau, there are eight sports camps opened at sports schools managed by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport. They work during June 1-30. There are also 13 vocational camps opened at vocational institutions on June 2 and 12 day camps opened at primary and secondary education institutions on June 7.
Also, 159 children supervised by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport throughout summer rest at the camp “Poienița Veselă” in Dănceni village of Ialoveni district.
The municipality allocated 2.05 million lei for organizing the leisure time of children and teens in Chisinau this summer.
