Second edition of Chisinau Economic Forum begins Thursday

Experts, professionals and opinion leaders from the business and public sectors of Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Italy, Poland and other countries will come together at the second edition of the Chisinau Economic Forum that will take place on February 22 and 23. High-ranking officials from Chisinau and Bucharest, representatives of academia and the diplomatic corps are also expected to attend the event, IPN reports.

The Economic Forum titled “Investments, Innovation, European Integration” is organized by the business club International Business Society that is built on the values promoted by the Romanian Royal Family, in partnership with the Investment Agency of Moldova, StarNet, Digital Park, the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government and Transylvania Today.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania, State Secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government Adrian Dupu. Diplomats, government representatives and entrepreneurs from Moldova, Romania, Italy, Poland, Germany, and other countries are also expected to come to the event.

International Business Society president Claudiu Pădurean said that the Economic Forum in Chisinau was inspired and organized with the idea of providing a communication platform to all those interested. “The purpose of this assembly is to facilitate a constructive dialogue and the exchange of ideas, to contribute to the development of viable, efficient and sustainable partnerships in order to favor innovation and progress,” stated Claudiu Pădurean.

Vice-president of the International Business Society Aurelia Salicov said that the main topics of the Forum were designed to inspire and stimulate entrepreneurial, urban and technological development and cooperation.

According to the agenda, the panels “Republic of Moldova – candidate country for accession to the European Union”, “Development of partnerships and extension of relations between entrepreneurs in the current economic context” and “The role of higher education in stimulating innovation and technological development” will take place on February 22. On February 23, the Forum will continue with debates on the topics “Smart City: innovations and solutions for the development of smart cities”, “Trends and innovations in information technology”, “Smart integrated community development” and “Strategies and opportunities for promoting rural development and agri-food industry”.
