“Scut” regiment celebrates 17 years of work

The patrol and sentinel regiment “Scut” that is a subdivision of the Chisinau General Police Commissariat is marking 17 years of the foundation. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca congratulated the unit’s employees on this occasion and told them to continue wearing the uniform of police officer with dignity and to appropriately guard the city, Info-Prim Neo reports. “There are yet different dynamics now. I hope we will manage to strengthen the relations between the municipality and the police, to maintain public order and to ensure the people’s safety and peace,” said the mayor. He stressed the necessity of taking steps to decentralize the police in the municipality of Chisinau, with the proper equipment of the police being one of the priorities of the City Hall. Financial resources will be allocated from the local budget for buying new vehicles and reconstructing the sanitary units and some of the facilities of the regiment “Scut”. Among the regiment’s tasks are to maintain public order, to prevent, combat and discover street offenses, to take preventive measures and to maintain pubic order during protests and mass rallies in the municipality.
