According to the minister, following a $3.5 million contract concluded with the support of the World Bank, which is about to be approved, another 11 500 computers will be purchased by the end of this year.

So far, with public authority support, more than two thousand computers have been purchased. Additionally, with the support of donors, schools were equipped with about 1,300 computers . "Moreover, we are having talks with World Bank representatives regarding the procurement of computers over the course of the next year of studies. We aim to double the number of computers. Commenting on the procurement plans, Prime Minister Ion Chicu noted that the last computer purchase for schools happened before 2009. According to official data, 32,00 computers were purchased before 2007.
