School this year will start as usual, on September l, with physical presence for all teachers and students, announced Health Minister Ala Nemerenco, following a meeting today of the Extraordinary Commission on Public Health, IPN reports.

Given the presence of children in educational institutions, a group not protected by vaccination, the Commission has recommended that a vaccination rate of at least 95% be achieved among teachers and non-teaching staff by 1 October.

Until then, once every two weeks, the unvaccinated teaching and auxiliary staff will be required to perform coronavirus tests, either rapid or PCR-based, at their own expense.

According to Ala Nemerenco, the growing Covid incidence per 100,000 population and R number paint a negative outlook for the near future. Most people who test positive are not vaccinated.
