The 15 participants in the first edition of the School of Modern Finance program will tour
rural areas across the country to offer financial and banking lectures to teenagers, pensioners, farmers and other groups of beneficiaries.

The National Bank of Moldova says that in this way the School’s students will share the experience and knowledge gained in Romania, with the help of the program’s partners: the National Bank of Romania and the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.

At a recent meeting with NBM governor Octavian Armașu, the participants emphasized that they had a unique experience in the School of Modern Finance. The young people had the opportunity to combine study experiences in the capital of Romania with cultural and historical activities in cities such as Iași, Brașov, Suceava and Sinaia. In Bucharest, the participants had meetings with personalities from the banking and academic communities.

The program is designed for undergraduate students and master’s students at the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies. After giving the financial education lectures, they will receive certificates of participation in the School of Modern Finance signed by the governors of the BNM and the BNR, as well as the rectors of ASE Bucharest and ASEM.

The School of Modern Finance was launched in July and will be held twice a year. The second edition starts tomorrow and will end on September 17, 2023.
