The movement of Transnistrian refugees blames the Chisinau Mayoralty that it delays renewing the list of refugees who need dwellings. The refugees state that some civil servants refuse their petitions. On Thursday, June 1, at the meeting of the Commission for interior displaced persons, which also includes the representatives of the refugees, the president of the Movement was thrown out by guardians at the request of the deputy mayor Veaceslav Iordan, justifying that Bazgu offended some members of the commission, accusing them of corruption. Sofia Coipan, the secretary of the commission, says that a second verification discloses many tricks the refugees use to be included in the list of persons who need dwellings. These are revealed with the help of the Territorial Cadastral Body, Land Department, Dwellings Department and other structures that collaborate with Mayoralty. The law stipulates that the refugees who received plots and preferential credits for the construction of dwellings do not have the right to claim for an apartment. Some refugees even sold previously their apartments and plots offered by the Mayoralty. It is also the case of the president of the Refugees Movement, Anatol Bazgu, says Sofia Coipan. In some situations the persons who claim to be refugees have houses in other localities in the country. An interesting case is the one of a refugees family who had two residence visas in Chisinau, says Sofia Coipan. They presented to the Mayoralty two documents showing two different addresses. In order to be included in the list of the dwelling-needing persons, they modified their identity passports, making also another residence visa for a dwelling of 12 square meters, states Sofia Coipan. The president of the Transnistrian Refugees Movement admits that 5-6 years ago he sold a plot, but according to him the plots offered by the authorities are not representing an improvement to their living conditions. At the same time, some refugees sold their plots, being forced by certain circumstances. Bazgu declared for Info-Prim Neo, that he sold his bachelor flat and at the moment rents an apartment to ensure the functioning of the Refugees Movement, non-profit organization which aims to obtain from the Mayoralty dwellings for internal displaced persons. Anatolie Bazgu says that the Refugees Movement will organize on June 11 a press-conference on this problem, at the press Agency Infotag at 11.00. At the conference the Movement will announce its intention to organize protests within the legal time-limits of 15 days. According to a list approved previously by the Chisinau Municipal Council, about 150 Transnistrian refugees need apartments.
