The Șansă Party has been ordered to restrict its activity for a period of three months and pay a 250 lei fine by the Bălți District Court, following a complaint from the Ministry of Justice.
The ruling satisfies the complaint only partially though, as the Ministry of Justice requested a 6-month ban.
In May, the Ministry announced it was going to court to enforce the provisions of the Law on Political Parties in relation to the Șansă Party. The complaint was lodged after the Central Election Commission notified the Ministry that the party failed to comply with the requirements of an audit which found reporting violations.
The ban may be challenged at the Balti Court of Appeal within 10 days.
