Mihaela Samoil won silver at the U23 World Wrestling Championships taking place in Spain. After defeating Nethmi Poruthotage of Sri Lanka and Alisha Howk of the U.S., she was beaten by Japan’s Moe Kiyooka in the final, IPN reports.
In the 68 kg weight class, Irina Rîngaci won a bronze medal. Initially, she lost to the future finalist Nesrin Bas of Turkey but then won against Marta Navarro of Spain and Sienna Ramirez of the U.S.
Mariana Draguțan enters the competition on Friday. She meets Meng Hsieh of Chinese Taipei in the playoffs.
