The Museum of Chisinau History is launching the exhibition titled “A Living House”, dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the house that belonged to the famed plastic artists Glebus Sainciuc and Valentina Rusu Ciobanu.

The exhibition tells a fascinating story spanning several generations, starting from 1913 when the design of the family house was authorized and until present, through documents and unique family photos of great historical value.

Lică Sainciuc, a celebrated illustrator himself, is the son of the famous couple and also the creator of the exhibition. Elaborating on the title of the exhibition, he said his family house is a place where “people are born and die, but it always remains alive”. It was also, famously, a place frequented by the Chisinau bohemia and intelligentsia.

Valeria Suruceanu, the director of the Museum, noted that the Sainciuc-Rusu Ciobanu house and its belongings provide an invaluable timelapse of Moldovan urban life throughout 20th century.

“A Living House” will run until September 23.
