The newscasts and analysis programs of Russian TV channels retransmitted in Moldova are detrimental to the consumers of information living in the area between the Prut and Nistru Rivers, said invitees who took part in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Referring to the Association of Independent Press’ report showing that the Russian TV channels retransmit manipulating programs on Moldova’s territory, journalist Victor Nichitus said both the news bulletins and analysis programs of Russian TV channels are harmful to the consumers of information living between the Prut and Nistru. “I think we should not ban, for example, the films made in the time of the Soviet Union and later because they are feature products,” stated Victor Nichitus. According to him, history should be assumed and the Republic of Moldova should take measures to secure its information area.

Democratic MP Corneliu Mihalache, ex-chairman of the Broadcasting Coordination Council, said the Russian TV channels practice brainwashing and wondered why the Moldovan consumers should form part of the informational war conducted by Russia against the whole world. “It is evident that this informational product that is of internal use, but ricochets in us, brings aggressiveness and negative feelings,” stated Corneliu Mihalachi.

Director of Intellect Group company Ian Lisnevschi said the 52% of Moldovans who are for joining the Customs Union were influenced by Russian propaganda. It is dangerous and the people should be informed about the conducted manipulation.

Media analyst Cristian Tabara said that even if it is aimed at the internal market of Russia, the manipulation results in the keeping of Moldovan consumers in Russia’s sphere of influence. “It is sad that Russia considers the Republic of Moldova continues to be in its area of informational influence and the people here should be indoctrinated, as in Russia. A lot of aggressiveness is being transmitted,” he said.
