The Transnistrain and Russian delegation at the Joined Control Commission (JCC) refuse to decide on the evacuation of force structures from the security zone. However, at the JCC meeting, held on Thursday, June 8, was decided to form a joint group which will examine this issue, declared for Info-Prim Neo, Ion Leahu, member of JCC delegation on behalf of Chisinau.
According to Leahu, the Moldovan delegation proposed at the yesterday’s meeting to evacuate out of the security zone the force structures of both Chisinau and Tiraspol, to exclude the possibility of some incidents. The delegations of Russia and Transnistria rejected this proposal, according to Leahu, but solicited to create a group of representatives from all sides that will examine this issue. Leahu did not exclude that this is a tentative of delaying the settlement of this problem.
The quoted source also informed that at the same meeting the representatives of Tiraspol insisted on establishing a post of peace-keepers at the Hydroelectric Plant in Dubasari. The Moldovan delegation opposed to this initiative, justifying that this post will impede the free movement of persons.
On the other hand, the delegations of Tiraspol and Russia opposed to a proposal of Chisinau to change the regulation of military observers that would alow a more transparent activity.
The next meeting of JCC is to take place on June 15 in Tighina.
