The runoff presidential election can be declared valid. By close to 11:30 a.m., about 560,000 electors went to the polls, which is 20% of the number of those put on the voter rolls, IPN reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, the basic voter lists contain over 2.7 million voters. The Electoral Code provides that the runoff election is declared valid if at least one fifth (1/5) of the persons put on the rolls vote in it.

Voters can exercise their right to vote at the polls by 09:00 p.m. However, the electoral bureau can decide to extend the voting deadline by no more than two hours in order to allow voters standing in line at the polling station to cast their ballots.

On October 20, the threshold for the validation of the presidential election, which for the first round is 33.3%, was reached shortly after 2:30 p.m. In total, 1,562,238 voters participated in the election two weeks ago, which is 51.67% of the voters put on rolls.
