On the election day on November 1, the voters will present themselves at polling stations with personal pens and will wear masks in closed places. The persons who will not be able to travel to polling stations, including those who will have symptoms of acute respiratory infections, will be able to vote at the place of stay after filing an application to this effect on the election day, until 3pm.

If voting at the place of stay is not possible (abroad, in case of voters with the domicile on the left side of the Nistru), but the person has signs of disease, this will be able to vote at the polling station by being given priority way to the polling booth and having minimum contact with the members of the electoral commission. When the person leaves, the room will be disinfected, CEC president Dorin Cimil stated in a news conference.

According to him, to maximally reduce the danger of infection with COVID-19, a campaign to inform the voters about the organization of voting during the pandemic was carried out together with the development partners. The instruction was approved by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission.

The CEC recommends the electoral contenders in the election campaign to use alternative communication channels rather than meetings with voters. The international observers and journalists enter Moldova even if they come from “red zones”. They will not have to quarantine if they do not have symptoms of disease. The international observers must have a copy of the CEC decision, while the journalists must be registered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

Besides the implemented normative documents, there were purchased protective equipment for all the 2,143 opened polling stations, namely 585,000 masks, over 320,000 pairs of gloves, 2,300 thermometers, about 27,000 liters of hand disinfectant and 14,500 liters of surface disinfectant. There were also bought 3 million protective masks for all the voters who will go to polling stations.
