Romania's Senate ratifies agreement on provision of €100m to Moldova

The Senate of Romania ratified the agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of Moldova and the additional protocol to the agreement on the provision of financial assistance of €100 million by Romania to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communique, the Senate says the agreement and the protocol were adopted by 114 votes for. Two senators voted against. The agreement was signed in Bucharest on April 27, 2010, while the additional protocol – in Chisinau on September 23, 2010. On February 11 this year, the Parliament of Moldova ratified the additional protocol. The non-reimbursable financial assistance of €100 million will be disbursed in yearly tranches of €25 million each. The Romanian authorities already transmitted a part of the sum in the form of construction materials for building houses for flood victims in Moldova.
