Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ionita said Romanian companies’ investments in the Republic of Moldova total €76 million, while their turnover for last year was €186 million.

The Association aims to strengthen the position of the Romanian investors on the Moldovan market, to transmit the experience and good practices of the Association to the local business community, to contribute to implementing European standards in the fields of doing business, the quality of products and services provided for consumers.

Attending the launch, Romanian Premier Viorica Dancila said Romania will continue to support Moldova’s European integration efforts based on the initiated broad reformation process. There is significant potential for increasing cooperation in all the sectors, while the investments made by the companies that form part of the Association will be felt by the citizens directly and in a short period of time.

“I want to transmit from the Romanian authorities a clear and firm message that there is interest in strengthening Romania’s investment presence in the Republic of Moldova and in laying the basis of a consistent partnership in this regard,” stated Viorica Dancila, addressing members of the Association.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the current government from the very beginning announced it is pro-business and during the past two years promoted many initiatives designed to improve the business climate. Among these is the reduction in the number of inspection bodies from 54 to 13, of reports that should be presented by companies, of permissive documents needed to do business from 412 to 150 and the list will be further decreased. The one-stop shop for obtaining permissive documents will start to work in a month.

Pavel Filip invited the Romanian businesspeople to invest in Moldova, assuring them that the Government will continue to work for the investors to feel more comfortable and safe on the Moldovan market.
