Romania’s prime minister Nicolae Ionel Ciucă has congratulated Dorin Recean on being proposed to become the next prime minister of Moldova. The official stated Romania would continue to strongly support the Moldovan Government.
“Romania will remain with the Republic of Moldova on all dimensions of our strategic partnership, for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Romania will continue to firmly support the Government of the Republic of Moldova on the path to European integration”, said the Romanian Prime Minister.
Dorin Recean was designated on February 10 as a candidate for the position of prime minister after the resignation announced earlier in the day by Natalia Gavrilița. Recean was appointed security and defense policy adviser to President Maia Sandu in February 2022. He served as minister of the interior in the Filat and the Leancă Cabinets.
