The Green Party and the Green Institute of Romania are ready to give free advice to the Moldovan authorities in implementing the European standards and in accessing European funds.  In a news conference at IPN, secretary general of the Green Party of Romania Silviu Dumitru said that, together with other colleagues from Romanies, they will help Moldova to have a smooth road in the pre-accession to the EU period and to avoid thus the mistakes made by Romania.

“It was hard to cover this road. Mistakes were made, maybe too many. Moldova should avoid making such mistakes. We saw what’s going on in such a situation and know how the dialogue between the state institutions and the European Union should be held and what actions the Government should take to ensure the successful accession,” said Silviu Dumitru.

Tudor Georgescu, head of the Green Institute of Romania, which is a nongovernmental organization, said they assumed responsibility for working out a sustainable development strategy that involves a number of European countries, including Moldova.

“This strategy is a development model based on such principles as environment conservation and development of collectivities to a greater extent than at present. We shared our experience in designing as efficient financing programs as possible with our Moldovan partners. It is important that Moldova should learn quickly to obey the rules imposed by the EU as it is the only correct option for the country,” said Tudor Georgescu. He added that the initiation of a national development strategy is more than necessary in Moldova and the Romanian experts will offer assistance in this respect.

Tudor Georgescu said that, together with members of the Green Party of Moldova and that of Romania, they had meetings with Moldovan mayors who showed ability to access European funds. The mayors sought assistance in obtaining larger investments for solving problems related to community development and to infrastructure. Meetings will also be held with representatives of the ruling parties, where there will be presented the model of the development strategy that will facilitate Moldova’s integration into the EU.
