The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Romania decided to consistently supplement the Consular Division of the Embassy to Chisinau with personnel in connection with the large number of visa applications submitted by the Moldovan citizens, a press release of the Embassy says, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
MFA of Romania came up with the decision to boost assistance for the Moldovan citizens until the General Consulates in the cities of Balti and Cahul, which are expecting Moldovan authorities’ approval, will be opened.
Thus, the Consular Division will work permanently, in two shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays. Meanwhile, the Consulate works on improving the programming system and advocates for cancelling transit visas for Moldovan citizens that hold Schengen visa or temporary permits for staying in the EU member states.
The Consular Division has had a busy schedule, including shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as during the winter holidays, on Christmas and on December 30-31, 2006, and on January 1-2, 2007, due to a large number of applications, the Romanian diplomatic mission’s press release says, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
