Romania’s Dedeman company announced its intention to invest €30 million in Moldova. In a meeting with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, the company’s president Dragos Paval said the money will be used to open two stores in Chisinau, where 400 new jobs will be created, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
The businessman said Moldova will be the first destination where the company will extend its operations outside Romania. A shop will be afterward opened in Balti.
Iurie Leanca said this project means workplaces, investments in related areas and a wider variety of building materials. “It is good news. I, together with the Government’s investment team, will make everything possible to improve the business environment. I’m waiting for the invitation to the opening of the first store,” he stated.
Iurie Leanca noted that the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27 represents a positive signal for potential investors that want to extend their businesses in Moldova.
A Romanian privately owned company, Dedeman is one of the most dynamic companies in building materials retail and interior deisgn with a turnover of €606 million last year.
