In the June 9 elections, the Romanian citizens will elect 33 Romanian members of the European Parliament. In the Republic of Moldova, 52 polling stations will be established for this election, of which 13 will be in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau said that the Romanian citizens eligible to vote who reside, have the domicile or are temporarily abroad can vote at any polling station established abroad, based on a Romanian identity document valid on election day. It goes to the identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, simple passport, simple electronic passport, simple provisional passport, in the case of students of military schools also the military service card.
Of the 52 polling stations, 28 are in the central part of the country, 17 polling stations are in the north and seven are in the south of the Republic of Moldova. The embassy said the number of polling stations is substantially higher compared to the previous elections. In 2019, a total of 36 polling stations were opened in the Republic of Moldova.
At the June 9 elections, polls open at 07:00 local time and close at 22:00. Voters who will be at the polling station at 22.00, as well as those who will be in the line outside the polling station waiting to vote will be able to exercise their right to vote until 23.59 local time.
