The Ministry of European Investment and Projects (MEIP) of Romania will dispatch five experts to the Republic of Moldova in November to provide the necessary expertise in the field of European funding. According to Răzvan Popescu, undersecretary of state of the MEIP, Romania remains a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova and provides support both institutionally and within joint projects aimed at bringing concrete benefits to the citizens, IPN reports.

Răzvan Popescu said that it is a historic moment for the Republic of Moldova, which requires everyone’s involvement, and that it is essential to communicate the important steps that Moldova is taking towards European integration, thus contributing to a correct and clear understanding of this complex process. European integration is the only option that can provide the citizens of the Republic of Moldova with prosperity, stability and security, which is a desideratum for the Moldovans.

“Romania’s actions in support of the Republic of Moldova will continue and will be amplified in the coming period. Romania’s commitment to provide practical support to the Republic of Moldova in the European integration process, based on a bilateral strategic partnership, remains one of the most important foreign policy objectives of the Romanian state,” noted the Romania official.

He also referred to the bilateral experience exchange programs, at the working level, aimed at supporting the strengthening of the institutional capacities of the Republic of Moldova in the field of European affairs. Răzvan Popescu underlined the close cooperation between a number of central institutions in Bucharest and Chisinau, as well as the active political and diplomatic support provided by Romania at the European level.

In the immediate period, a joint declaration will be signed to lay the foundations for in-depth cooperation regarding the European practices, for the benefit of both countries.

“Such actions of Romania will come to support the Republic of Moldova and will be intensified in the coming period. We are open in the process of joining the European Union,” assured the Romanian official.

The statements were made within the Professional Training Program “Romanian Values in the Field of European Affairs”, funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania and carried out in partnership with the Romanian Diplomatic Institute.
