Romania can pass the winter season only with Romanian gas, with what it stored and with what is produced, said Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja. According to the Romanian official, in the case of special requests from Moldova or other states of the region, Romania can activate the option agreed with Azerbaijan or the option of importing liquefied petroleum gas by two routes, IPN reports.

Sebastian Burduja told a news conference on Tuesday that Romania is prepared for the coming winter better than ever. The gas stock is of nearly 103%, plus what is produced during the winter season.

“If we have special requests from the Republic of Moldova or other states of the region, we are ready to activate an option with Azerbaijan, which was secured by Romania last spring, through which we will have access to 1 billion cubic meters. If that quantity is not sufficient, we have the option of importing liquefied petroleum gas through the Greece – Bulgaria – Romania route or the Turkey - Bulgaria – Romania route,” stated Sebastian Burduja, being quoted by Agerpres.
