The costs for the rehabilitation of the bridges in Sculeni, Cahul and Leușeni will be covered by Romania. The Government of the Republic of Moldova ratified the agreements on the execution of works and the Romanian side is to draft the provisions for the tender contests, IPN reports.
In a Cabinet meeting, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Liliana Dabija said that the business entities that will execute the works will be announced in September. It is planned that the repair works will be started in the first half of 2024 and will be completed until 2027. “The importance of these bridges is incommensurable. There is mobility. There are investments, access to a European market and our transport networks can be connected to the European transport network,” stated the minister.
All the costs will be covered by the Romanian state. “We speak about approximately 30 or 40 million euros,” said Liliana Dabija. The Government of the Republic of Moldova will cover only the costs associated with the access infrastructure and the equipment of the respective customs posts.
