A delegation of Romania had in Chisinau preparatory discussions with the Moldovan authorities responsible for the implementation of a part of the assistance package provided by Romania to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the President Klaus Iohannis announced in Chisinau on December 29, IPN reports.
The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau said the Romanian delegation had meetings with delegations led by the President’s adviser on health Ala Nemerenco, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Tatiana Zatîc and secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.
The sides discussed in detail the technical and legal steps that need to be taken for the donation of COVID-19 vaccines made by Romania to be delivered efficiently and in the best conditions to the Republic of Moldova, and also logistical and organizational aspects of the whole immunization supply chain.
“On this occasion, the Romanian side noted that it supports without reservations the European course of the Republic of Moldova and remains committed to offering support to all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of the geographical area in which they live, the spoken language and the political orientation,” the Embassy said in a press release.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection confirmed that an exchange of information with the Romanian delegation took place. There were agreed the official communication ways for transmitting information about the vaccination process and organizational and legal aspects of the delivery of vaccines from Romania. The Moldovan authorities presented the national immunization plan, accination stages, target groups, immunization centers and the measure taken by the Republic of Moldova for receiving, storing and distributing the vaccines.
The time when the vaccines will get to the Republic of Moldova wasn’t specified.
