The formation of a classical coalition between the PLDM, PDM and PL is highly improbable even if the Liberal MPs vote Iurie Leanca Prime Minister, considers political commentator Roman Mihaes. He stated his opinion in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.

According to Mihaes, the negotiations in the PLDM-PD-PL format will most probably be resumed and it’s not excluded that a minimal consensus will be reached. “Fielding Iurie Leanca, knowing that the Communists will not vote for him, means planning negotiations with the Liberals. There are particular areas where both of the sides can make concessions,” he said.

Roman Mihaes believes it will be convenient for the Liberal Party to vote Iurie Leanca Prime Minister and they should not return to the conditions owing to which the negotiations were blocked. “If the PL understands this, it will be a chance. Through the agency of the Leanca Government, the PL could promote its policies and could obtain protection and support for the party’s deputy chairman Dorin Chirtoaca in the local elections of this summer,” stated the commentator.

Referring to the PCRM, Mihaes said this party will not give up the idea of voting against Leanca. “Iurie Leanca is an anti-Communist politician and he always had an anti-Communist platform. The PCRM will never vote such a candidate,” he stated.

Roman Mihaes called on the politicians not to delay the investiture of the Government. “The country faces serious problems. The budget law wasn’t adopted and the leu continues to depreciate against the main foreign currencies. Problems also exist at foreign level, but the most important thing is that we cannot do without a government at a time when the neighboring country is in a war,” he argued.
