Armenian national Robert Abazean became the winner of the Cup of the National Amateur Chess Grand Prix that was organized by the National Chess Federation of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Robert Abazean gained 7 points of 7 possible. He is a participant in an international project implemented in Moldova and finalist of the Cup of Carriers and Energeticians of May 12, 2012. The second position was taken by the winner of the Doctors’ Cup Dumitru Midrigan with 5 points of 7 possible, while the third by Eugen Sochirca, who works in the financial sector, with 4.5 points.
The June 9 tournament brought together the 16 finalists of the nine qualifiers held between April 7 and June 2. Every stage involved chess players from education, science, culture, energy, law, medicine and other spheres.
