The road sections that see the largest number of traffic accidents will be patrolled by the patrolling police in a move to discourage the undisciplined behavior of drivers. In a meeting at the General Police Inspectorate on January 2, there were agreed the priorities aimed at reducing the number of road accidents in the immediate period, IPN reports.
Emphasis will be placed on the surveillance of crosswalks and areas with a heavier traffic of people. Other responsible authorities will also be requested to take relevant measures.
In the meeting, it was reported that a high number of road accidents with injuries and deaths in 2017 were recorded in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti and in the districts of Straseni, Ialoveni, Cimislia, Orhei and Telenesti.
