“Moldova is a neighboring country of the European Union and has a favorable geographical situation, a reason to become an attractive destination for investors, including for the German ones,” said Uve Konst, the representative of the company Geschaftsentwicklung International, who moderated the Moldo-German symposium titled: “Logistics, Energy, Environment”. The symposium has been joined by 8 German companies, specialized in logistics, transportation, energy, environment protection and consulting. A series of German investors, already working in Moldova, also attended, as well as representatives of 26 Moldovan companies . The Moldovan businesspeople said they came to the symposium being interested in the work of the German logistics companies, as Moldova also has conditions to develop this kind of business. Andrei Cojocaru, the manager of an advertising company, said he would like to get commissions to produce advertising stuff from Western companies. The volume of its firm's sales is over 1 million euros, but it could expand, provided such contacts were established. Veacelav Frunza, the representative of the Marculesti International Airport, presented the opportunities generated by this important project. Although the law on creating a free business zone on the Marculesti airport is still in the Parliament, the potential residents have already proposed many interesting business plans. Discussions were also conducted on the verge of projects concerning the international transport, as the Black Sea road belt and the facilities it could offer to transporters from more countries. The event was organized on May 30 by the Central and East European Countries Center of Rhineland-Palatinate from Germany in partnership with the Moldovan Trade and Industry Chamber.
