Retired colonel of the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) Alexei Serebryanski, former foreign espionage chief, asks the President of the country to withdraw the rank of general conferred on Aleksandr Esaulenco, Artur Gumenyuk and Pavel Voicu. According to him, these ranks were awarded by the former head of state “with the aim of making the leaders of the law enforcement agencies docile in the 2020 electoral year”.
“On March 11, 2020, Dodon, who at that time held office of President of the Republic of Moldova, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, without having any factual basis, on his own initiative and with the purpose of influencing the heads of the law enforcement agencies to be docile and act in the interests of the Socialists in the 2020 electoral year, signed several decrees to confer the highest rank of general. These decrees were kept secret by Dodon and were published in the Official Gazette on March 17, 2020,” Alexei Serebryanski told a press conference hosted by IPN.
According to him, thus, the former head of state “bribed” several generals, awarding supreme military ranks to persons affiliated to the Socialists, who have no merit in ensuring state security – “persons involved in crimes, including Aleksandr Esaulenco, Artur Gumenyiuk and Pavel Voicu, who in society are called “Dodon’s generals”. “This fact was widely covered by the press. Even PAS MPs, who were in opposition at that time, criticized Dodon and his new so-called generals,” said the retired SIS colonel.
The former foreign espionage chief noted that over the past four years, he gave ten press conferences in which he presented evidence of “the involvement of high-ranking SIS officers in particularly serious crimes in the interests of Dodon and the Socialists.”
“Throughout this period, I demonstrated that Esaulenco and Gumenyuk work in the interests of the Socialists and are involved in particularly serious crimes, such as discrediting inconvenient people, SIS officers, politicians, including you, dear Missis President and the PAS party, European diplomats; stirring up interethnic hatred by denigrating national minorities, especially the Gagauz. Likewise, the illegal management of anonymous Telegram channel – the so-called “SIS secret operations to influence the digital environment”, the use of journalists for criminal purposes and in the interests of the Socialists, interference in justice by influencing and blackmailing judges with access to state secrets, stealing and disclosure of secret information of the SIS and others,” said Alexei Serebryanski.
