The organization of the building site on section 1 of the R26 Bender - Causeni - Cimișlia national road started. The section is over 7 kilometers long, IPN reports.
The State Road Administration said that the road has a 11-meter wide platform, two traffic lanes, 0.5 m framing lanes, 2-meter shoulders and sidewalks with widths between 1 and 1.5 meters.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the road system, the repair of 12 bridges, the paving of 5,900 square meters of sidewalks, the installation of curbs, the building of 32 minor intersections and the necessary access roads.
Also, there will be set up over 200 road signs and over 4,000 linear meters of pedestrian parapet and drawn road markings.
The total value of the contract is over 153 million lei and the money is allocated from the Road Fund. The works are expected to be completed in August 2026.
The sector passes through Zaim village of Căușeni district and is part of a road corridor of strategic importance, which ensures connection between the Tudora and Palanca border crossing points and the southern area of the country.
