Relatives of the deceased patients who were treated by the urologist from Balti, who was sentenced to prison, accuse the management of the Balti Clinical Hospital of covering up crimes related to violations of medical assistance procedures. During a press conference at IPN, the relatives spoke about the irregularities committed by the urologist, emphasizing that they will fight for justice.

Veaceslav Rosca “buried his father on Saturday after his surgery performed by Cozub
”, whom he refers to as the black surgeon”. According to the man, although his father was 71 years old, he was an active and athletic pensioner who did not need urgent medical intervention. After a routine medical examination, it was found that he had an enlarged prostate. He was admitted to the hospital on October 28, where he was promised that his problem would be resolved with minimal risks. However, the intervention did not go as initially planned, leading to complications that eventually worsened his father's health. He gave the attending doctor a sum of money, hoping that his father would receive the proper care. It was decided to transfer the patient to the Institute of Emergency Medicine, where doctors immediately informed the son that his father was a hopeless case. However, the doctors continued to fight for his life until the last moment, said Veaceslav Rosca. He accuses the urologist from Balti of negligence and hopes for a fair medical expertise.

The urologist from Balti was also the attending physician for Cristian Raileanu's mother, who passed away on October 1, 2022. The son reported that during a medical examination for admission to a sanatorium, his mother was diagnosed with kidney stones and was referred to the urologist in Balti. Despite having no pain, after a consultation, the urologist said she needed treatment. She was admitted to the Balti Clinical Hospital on September 27, and after repeated tests, it was determined that she needed surgery. The attending doctor gave positive prognoses before the surgery, but after the operation, the mother felt unwell and passed away on the third day, the son stated.

Cristian Raileanu shared that his mother had requested help multiple times from the nurses, but they told her it was a normal post-surgery condition and did not pay attention to her complaints. Even after the mother gave money to the doctor, no action was taken. After her death, the doctors stated that she had several conditions that worsened the situation and became the cause of her death, the son added.

To this day, there is a need to clean up the medical staff in Balti, at the hospital, not all of them, of course. It is not normal for a patient with health insurance to also pay a fee. Those who have been under Cozub's care, pray that you never have to go back, but all of you who survived, you know very well that you paid a fee to please him. Surely, my mother had no choice, seeing her condition, she took money out of her pocket to pay, hoping to save her life, but the money didn’t help her”, emphasized Cristian Raileanu.

Unfortunately, we have many cases and requests from the relatives of the victims, but they are afraid to speak out about this, they are afraid to go public and admit that they were also threatened, but they will address the authorities, and some have already done so. And we will take legal action, said Mariana Spatari, the wife of the deceased Vitalie Spatari, who was also a patient of the accused doctor.
