Relations between Chisinau and Targoviste will amplify in cultural and economic domains

The City Hall of the Chisinau Municipality is satisfied by the participation of artists and businessmen in the “Days of Chisinau” in Targoviste. The interim Mayor of the capital, Vasile Ursu told a press conference, on Wednesday, October 25, that the event contributed to the development of collaboration between the cities in diverse domains including cultural and economic ones. The deputy Mayor of Targoviste, Dumitru Barbu also appreciated the event as a successful one, saying that Targoviste didn’t have such a Festivity for a long while. He also expressed his hope that other editions will follow. In the next days, a vacation will be organized in Targoviste for 40 high-school students from the capital, in conformity with an agreement between local authorities of the two cities. Vasile Ursu declared that especially children from schools of different language than Romanian will be selected in order to stimulate their study of Romanian. Art Director of the Municipal Theater Satiricus “I.L. Caragiale”, Sandu Grecu said that he signed a contract with “Tony Bulandra” theatre from Targoviste, which is to come with plays to Chisinau. At the same time an exchange of directors is to take place between the two theaters. The head of the Foreign Relations Department, Ion Capatana asserts that local administration of Targoviste was strongly impressed by the photo exhibition showing images of the old and modern Chisinau presented at the History Museum „Dambovita”. At the request of the hosts the exhibition has been offered as a gift to the museum. The Painter Valentina Brancoveanu from Chisinau presented several paintings showing the old Chisinau. The exhibition was so impressing that Valentina Brancoveanu was solicited to return in order to paint modern Targoviste. All the expenses of this special mission will be covered by the Municipality of Targoviste. The paintings would be brought to Chisinau on “Days of Targoviste”. In what concerns the economical part, the two City Halls planned to open, in the respective cities, centers for promoting interested economic agents as well as NGOs. At the same time, a joint store could be opened in the Romanian city, where economic agents participating in the event could sell their products. “Days of Targoviste” in Chisinau will take place in the spring of the next year.
