Persons can register to get on-bill compensation for energy costs for the 2024 – 2025 winter season as of November 1. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that the Government will continue to provide on-bill compensation, as the previous years. The citizens will have to register in the compensation system as from the beginning of November.
"All those who want to benefit from compensation will have to register in the system. Depending on their income and composition of the household, they will receive compensation,” explained the minister.
Alexei Buzu noted that teams of social workers will help citizens who do not have access to the internet to register.
"The exact number of beneficiaries will be made known at the beginning of December, after the centralization of data. In previous years, about 70,000 households received compensation. The citizens can also register in December or even in January, but the compensation will be set the month they will register,” stated Alexei Buzu.
As for the budget for compensation, the minister said the discussions are still ongoing as funds are needed both for the months of 2024 and 2025. "We are sure that we will succeed, as we did the last two difficult winters," noted the official.
