Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, in a meeting with European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu, reiterated the country’s European integration commitment and the necessity of continuing the pro-European reforms in all the areas, not only in those classed as priorities in the government program for the next four years, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“Our firm commitment is to improve the quality of the services provided for the people and to reduce the administrative costs and regional discrepancies, including by doing the territorial-administrative and decentralization reform,” said the Prime Minister. He noted that Moldova achieved results in this field, but continuity of reforms can be ensured only by providing appropriate financial support.

Another subject discussed by the two officials was the accessing of the European structural and investments funds. In this connection, Corina Cretu said the time is now opportune for launching debates on the possibilities of extending the EaP countries’ access to the European funds.
