Recent preliminary results of Moldova’s local elections show similar trends

With about 96.58% of the information from the polling stations throughout the country processed, the candidates of the Party of Communists and of the Moldova Noastra Alliance are still in the lead.
According to preliminary data on validated votes cast for mayors, the representatives of the Party of Communists scored the best results nationwide, with 30.05%. They are followed by the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party (15.77%), the Democrat Party (10.47%), the Christian-Democrat People’s Party (6.86%), The Social Democracy Party (4.28%), the Social-Democrat Party (3.2%), the Social-Liberal Party (3.12%), the Republican People’s Party (3.29%), the Electoral Bloc “Patria-Rodina-Ravnopravie” (1.95%), the Centrist Union of Moldova (1.53%), the Liberal Party (1.38%). Other parties received less than 1 percent. Independent candidates collected a total of 14.83% of the votes counted.
According to the preliminary results of votes cast for town/village councillors, PCRM collected 33.19%, AMN – 17.39%, PD – 10.86%, PPCD – 8.2%, PDS – 4.65%, PSL – 3.39%, , PPR – 3.16%, BEPРР – 1.82%, UCM – 1.53%, PL – 1.53%. Other political parties received less than 1%. Independent candidates collected a total of 8.25%.
The situation concerning the votes cast for municipal/district councillors does not differ too much. The first positions are held by PCRM – 34.97%, AMN – 16.7%, PD – 9.7%, PPCD – 8.45%. The independent candidates for municipal/district councillors collected 4.39% of the votes counted.
