The Râșcani Health Center was provided with ultrasound equipment in the framework of the Kusanone Program funded by the Government of Japan. The investment amounts to almost US$46,000, IPN reports.

At the project completion ceremony, Japan’s Ambassador in Chisinau Yamada Yoichiro thanked the healthcare personnel for their selfless, tireless work for society. He made reference to the recent events, saying that Moldova is surrounded and supported by friends.

"Recently, you have chosen your future wisely. I see that the Russian government and its agents are still trying to bring this country back into its orbit. I ask you to exactly realize what is at stake. Japan will continue to support your efforts as you move forward", said the diplomat.

The event involved the head of Râșcani district Vladimir Mizdrenco, Râșcani Health Center director Gabriela Sandu and medical staff.

The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects or Kusanone Program was launched in Moldova in 2008. To date, Japan has provided US$7.6 million in grant funding for 92 projects implemented in the fields of education, healthcare and public utilities.
