The Republic of Moldova will enjoy more benefits if it joins the European Network of Public Employment Services (EURES). “With the help of this network, we will improve and increase the mobility of the workforce and make better use of the capacities of the workforce throughout the space when we are members. We are preparing to join the EURES network,” director of the National Employment Agency Raisa Dogaru stated in public debate staged by IPN News Agency.

Raisa Dogaru noted that when Moldova joins the European Union and EURES, respectively, the Moldovan labor market will have to be transparent for all the countries and be ready to cover the needs of the labor market in EU member states. The National Employment Agency has reviewed the legislation that needs to be adapted in the Republic of Moldova in the process of joining the EU. It participated in screenings of EU directives in this area, examined the EURES regulation. The sources of information will also have to be adjusted so that a person from outside the country knows the free jobs in the Republic of Moldova and beyond it.

The director said that the National Employment Agency has an important role in reforming the labor market, having a high tangency with all vocational training providers, employers, LPAs and many nongovernmental organizations. There is a wide network of institutions that are involved in the employment process and the Agency has the role of communicating with these entities in order to improve the services provided to citizens. The citizen must know the information about the demand and supply on the labor market, and also that the desired job cannot be occupied without having the skills required by the employer.

Raisa Dogaru said that the Agency’s mobile teams inform citizens about the labor supply. Employees of the Agency travel to districts, discuss with people from different social groups and ages, such as young people, the elderly, and try to identify their profile, their needs and register them in the database. When a person does not have a qualification, especially from rural areas, the members of the mobile team invite them to come to the local subdivision to be offered career guidance services and to be helped to make a thoughtful decision about a profession on the labor market. The people are also informed about training courses that they can attend and then will be able to find a job or start a business.

The public debate entitled “Romania-Republic of Moldova, joint efforts in reforming the labor market” was the eleventh installment of the “Double integration through cooperation and information. Continuity” project funded by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova. The content of this debate does not represent the official position of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
