Radu Albot wins Challenger tournament in Poznan

Radu Albot has won the Challenger tournament held in the Polish city of Poznan. The Moldovan tennis player, who was the competition’s favorite, in the final beat Belgium’s Clement Geens 6-2, 6-4, IPN reports.

The final in Poznan lasted for an hour and a half. This was the fifth singles Challenger tournament won by Radu Albot in his career and the third this year. For his performance in Poland, Albot won €6,150 and 90 ATP points.

This summer, the 26-year-old player has also won the Challenger tournaments of Fergana and Furth and for the first time reached the second round of Wimbledon, which is the third Grand Slam tournament of the year. Albot now returned to the rankings of the world’s best 100 tennis players.
