Radu Albot will contend for the second time in the main competition of the Indian Wells Masters tournament that is annually held in California. The best Moldovan tennis player will replace Spain’s Rafael Nadal, who withdrew due to injury, IPN reports.

This year’s edition of the Indian Wells Masters starts on March 8. Last year Albot reached the main competition after scoring two victories, but in the qualifying rounds was eliminated by France’s Jeremy Chardy.

The Indian Wells Masters has been held since 1974. Most of the times, the tournament was won by Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, by five titles. Current world leader Roger Federer of Switzerland emerged victorious last year. Radu Albot takes the 86th spot in the ATP rankings.
