Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot continues to have a good performance at the Grand Slam Tournament of Wimbledon. After beating world No. 12 Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain, Albot eliminated Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene, who takes the 71st spot in the ATP rankings, IPN reports.
The second match of Albot also consisted of five sets - 6-2, 4-6, 7-6, 5-7, 6-3. In the third round, the 28-year-old athlete will meet the winner of the encounter between John Isner of the U.S. and Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium. The match was interrupted owing to rain when the score was 2-2 by sets.
Radu Albot is the only Moldovan tennis player who contested in the main competitions of all the Grand Slam Tournaments.
